Whoop Axe

Have you ever had an idea, a crazy idea that you thought “This is awesome. I bet other people would think it is too.” But then you started to realize that to make this idea of yours come to fruition, you’re going to have to work hard.. really hard. Maybe stay up really late on a workday and eat Taco Bell because that’s all that’s open kinda hard. After you realize how much time and effort this is going to take on your part, you just give up. I’m an expert at doing this, but I fight against giving up.

Whoop Axe is one of those ideas. He’s a crime fighting Lumberjack who’s determined to rid the streets of scum. Why’s a lumberjack in the city? Who cares? I know that most likely no one will care if this idea will ever see the light of day, but I’ll care. I want to see this guy going nuts on bad guys. Even if no one ever watches this animation once it’s done, I will at least have followed through with my idea and will have learned a ton of new skills that I didn’t have beforehand, skills that will help me in future projects.

If you have an idea of your own for a project that you want to see come about, go for it! Do the work. Don’t wait for permission or a syllabus. Do projects for yourself that you love doing and seeing as a finished product. In the end, you’ll have something that’s truly yours. It may be a hard thing to do, but it’s worth it.
